In the Winter Quiet
A restorative afternoon of yin yoga, wood-fired sauna and nature bathing
As the days grow cooler and life becomes busier, give yourself permission to slow down.
Join us for a deeply nourishing two-hour experience at Surya Health, combining the calming practices of yin yoga, herbal tea ritual, wood-fired sauna and quiet connection with nature.
We begin in our tranquil studio with a gentle yin yoga practice designed to soothe the nervous system, release tension and invite the body into a state of rest. Through long-held, supported postures and mindful breathing, you'll create space to unwind and settle into the stillness of winter.
From there, we'll move outdoors to our peaceful garden sanctuary. Nestled among the trees, you'll find comfortable armchairs beside the frog pond, where beautiful teapots and cups await. Sip warming herbal tonics, listen to birdsong and enjoy the simple pleasure of being unhurried.
In small groups of four, participants will experience two rounds of traditional wood-fired sauna bathing. Heated to approximately 70°C, the sauna offers a gentle, penetrating warmth with views across the surrounding bushland. After each sauna session, cool down under the outdoor shower before returning to the garden to rest, rehydrate and soak in the quiet beauty of the afternoon.
This traditional cycle of warming and cooling is both deeply relaxing and invigorating. Research suggests regular sauna bathing may support cardiovascular health, stress reduction, improved sleep, hormone regulation, and relief from symptoms such as hot flushes. Combined with meditative yin yoga and time in nature, the experience offers a powerful reset for body and mind.
